Call for Interdisciplinary Conservation Workshop Proposals 2016 – 2017

We are delighted to offer conservation-related postodocs and graduates from across the University of Cambridge the opportunity to plan and run their own workshop, supported by a £1k budget provided jointly by UCCRI and The Luc Hoffmann Institute.

Provided there is an interdisciplinary theme, there is no set format. We welcome any conservation-related topics and applicants can be as creative in their planning and presentation as they wish.

UCCRI is happy to provide guidance and publicity support if required, however, once a proposal has been selected the planning and running of the workshop will be carried out by the lead applicants.

The deadline for proposals is 1st November 2016 and two will be selected. Successful applicants will be advised on 7th November 2016.  The envisaged timeline for the workshop to take place will be in Lent Term 2017 (but this can be flexible).

To maintain the interdisciplinary format, we require three lead applicants, who are graduates or postdocs from two (or more) different disciplines; at least one applicant should be an occupant of the David Attenborough Building.

To Apply

Please provide the following documents as a pdf:

A cover page with the names, status, department and contact details of the three lead applicants

A 300 word abstract outlining your proposal for a workshop, including speakers, events and venue

A breakdown of a £1k budget

Please submit your documents to
